Appointments
Lt General Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, assumed the appointment of the Deputy Chief of Army Staff (DCOAS) (Strategy) on July 1, 2021. The DCOAS (Strategy), is a third and a new vertical created for overseeing the Indian Army’s operations and intelligence directorates, among other important branches, is one of the most crucial appointments within the Indian Army.
Lt General S.P. Goswami took over as Director General Army Air Defence (DGAAD) on July 1, 2021 from Lt General A.P. Singh who has superannuated.
Lt General Tarun Kumar Chawla, assumed the appointment of the Director General of Artillery on August 1, 2021. He took over the appointment from Lt General K. Ravi Prasad who superannuated on July 31, 2021.
